  1. The best B and B in Vermont !! You won’t be disappointed with your stay at Hobble Inn and the fantastic breakfast you’ll receive every morning. Don’t expect the boring eggs and potatoes but Mary’s own waffle French toast !! 👍

  2. Another example from the “Small World” department —– My B&B guests today have so much in common with me — Susie went to Wheelock College in Boston the same time I was there, their youngest son is the same age, and has the same name (Andrew) as mine, AND, they currently live in Bradenton, Florida, a few miles from where my family had a condo for decades!

  3. Absolutely wonderful accommodation and a fantastic hostess. Mary makes you feel part of the household. I’ve been traveling for 8 weeks and this is the most memorable stay I have had. And by far the best breakfast anywhere!
    Thank you Mary

  4. We really enjoyed our stay at The Hobble Inn. We loved meeting Mary and learning about Stowe and the family history with her house. She makes you feel right at home. Mary has a lovely touch for decorating and has put careful thought into the little touches. Water, chocolates, and extra towels were waiting for us in the bedroom. Seating on the porch included bug spray (didn’t need) and a blanket with the wicker seating. We felt spoiled as she made a hearty breakfast each morning including her delicious French toast waffles, sausage and bacon, and cheese and spinach omelets. Thank you Mary, for the advice about various attractions in the area!

    • Hi, Tony and Kathy – Thanks for your kind comments! I really enjoyed you, and hope you’ll be able to return another time. Hope the rest of your trip was satisfactory, as well.

  5. If you’re looking for a quaint, relaxing B&B in a true old-time Vermont atmosphere, this is it (speaking as a born & raised Vermonter myself). The house is an old-style home built around 1865. It has a modern kitchen (where a wonderful breakfast is served), ample common space for reading or surfing, and comfortable sleeping arrangements. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom, which has a private bath located a few steps down the hall, and slept absolutely wonderfully partly due to the complete absence of any noise.

We found the home to be clean and well-kept and the proprietor to be friendly and available. She fulfilled all of our requests and had breakfast ready at a time or our choosing.

The B&B is located near the center of Stowe and is an easy walk to the historic district do some shopping, sightseeing (there is a pedestrian covered bridge nearby) as well as shopping or to enjoy dinner at one of the several locally-owned restaurants.

We can’t wait for our next trip!

  6. Mary, I heard your name and your voice on VPR this morning, and was so happy to think of you. Dave and I still recount being welcomed to Village Green by your venison lasagna and peach pie! We are still there, though nearly everyone else has turned over. I hope that all is well with you and your family. If we are ever to stay in Stowe, or send others there, now I know where we’ll go!

    • Hi, Sharon – how nice to hear from you after all these years! I still connect with Jean O’Sullivan regularly, usually over peaches! I’ve lost touch with everyone else, sadly. It’s nice to know you’re still there! If your travels bring you to Stowe, please stop in!
