Mary, you’re the perfect hostess/innkeeper. We enjoyed your warm hospitality, hearing about all the things we could do in and around Stowe, and knowing we were in your childhood home. We were so lucky to have sun, despite the poor weather forecast, so we could climb, bike, and enjoy Stowe. Hopefully, we can come back again to do the many things we missed.

If you want to meet an exemplary American, Mary Skelton is certainly one. If you want an exemplary house for a stay, hers is it. We’ve been to hundreds of B&B homes, and hers tops the list, with all the fanciest mansions trailing far behind.

A wedding brought us to Stowe, but it was Mary’s hospitality and kind soul that showed us what Vermont has to offer. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you, Mary, for opening your home up to us and for the restful place to lay our heads at night.

Mary, I heard your name and your voice on VPR this morning and was so happy to think of you. Dave and I still recount being welcomed to Village Green by your venison lasagna and peach pie! We are still there, though nearly everyone else has turned over. I hope that all is well with you and your family. If we are ever to stay in Stowe or send others there, now I know where we’ll go!
